"Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die."
This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Pablo Morillo who was born in Dominican Republic on January 26, 1974 and passed away on January 25, 2005 at the age of 30. We will remember him forever.
Pablo, affectionately known as "Apagalo" (turn it off), touched many lives in his 30 years. The youngest of 13 children, he was raised like a little prince by his two loving parents, Jose and Nereyda, and all his doting brothers and sisters. He was a joy to them all, his brothers delighting in watching him learn how to play baseball, and his sisters treating him like a doll.
He came to the United States in December 1990, and moved to Perth Amboy, New Jersey with his parents a month later. He would make Perth Amboy his permanent residence, attending McGuinness School and Perth Amboy High School. Along the way, he made many friends, through school and through all the baseball teams he participated on.
In 1996, he began dating Wanda DeJesus, whom he had previously lived next door to when he first moved to Perth Amboy. From then on, they were inseparable. He was always an unyielding source of support for her, and for all his siblings and friends. His loyalty to those he loved was unmatched.
He loved baseball, playing the sport and following Major League Baseball and Winter Baseball from the Dominican Republic. He was a fan of Ken Griffey, Jr., and of the Tigres del Licey (Licey Tigers) of Santo Domingo. He hated the Yankees, and rejoiced in seeing the Red Sox win the World Series in October 2004.
He was a practical joker, and loved telling jokes and funny stories. He also loved children, and doted on all his nieces and nephews, and the children of all his friends.
After dating for close to five years, he proposed to Wanda on 5/19/2001, and they planned an August 2003 wedding. They wed on August 2nd, 2003, and in August 2004 found out they were expecting their first child. Although he died before his daughter was born, everyone knows love continues after death, and he will love his daughter and watch over from heaven. On March 31, 2005, Samantha Paola was born, in St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey, at 8:52 am.
Pablo finally took Wanda to the Dominican Republic in December 2004, and showed her where he grew up, and introduced her to the people he grew up with. He had always wanted to take her, even though she had previously visited with her parents, so that she could get to know his Santo Domingo.
On January 25, 2005, Pablo was working at his place of employment when an industrial explosion took his life, and that of two other co-workers, Ynio Perez and German Gonzalez. Although he was taken away from us far too soon, we comfort ourselves with the knowledge that he lived a full, happy life, and was loved by all who knew him. We cling to the happy memories he left us and look forward to all the joy Samantha will bring us.
Pablo, we all love you and miss you. We'll never forget you, and you'll live on in our hearts and memories.
Goodbye - Lionel Richie I wanted you for life You and me in the wind I never thought there come a time That our story would end It's hard to understand But I guess I'll have to try It's not easy to say goodbye.
For all the joy we shared All that time we had to spend Now if I had one wish I'd want forever back again To look into your eyes And hold you when you cry It's not easy to say goodbye
I can remember all those great times we had There were so many memories, some good some bad Yes and through it all Those memories will last forever
There's peace in where you are May be all I need to know And if I listen to my heart I'll hear your laughter once more And so I got to say I'm just glad you came my way It's not easy to say goodbye
