Pablo lived a happy childhood in Los Alcarizos, a section of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was the youngest of 13 siblings. He had 8 brothers - Francisco, Alexis, Esteban, Fidel, Jacob, Pedro, Tirso and Jose - and 4 sisters - Josefina, Rosa Maria, Flor Maria, and Maria Teresa.
He loved baseball more than anything, and played from a young age, first in his neighborhood, then at the Manny Mota grounds. He made many friends for life in his neighborhood, and through baseball. |
